You can criticise her for many things, but certainly not for being a shrewd business woman.When Kim Kardashian announced that she was creating an app for iPhones and Androids that allows players to interact with her as they work their way up to the A-list, most thought it was a joke.
But it seems that Kim is the one having the last laugh as the game has already amassed an incredible $43 million, according to parent company Glu Mobile's third-quarter earnings report.

The mobile and online game was the brainchild of a 19-year-old Italian web developer who controversially drew from the objectives of similar sliding puzzles for his simple app: add together tiles of 2 and 4, and try to get to 2048. Unlike more sophisticated mobile games, 2048 was an instant sensation and logged millions of downloads in its first week. 2048 also has an open source code, which prompted other developers to create an endless stream of spin offs in which the tiles’ numbers can be replaced with images.

Facebook launched Thursday an anonymous chat room app called Rooms, the latest creation to emerge from the company’s initiative to design more apps connecting people in different ways.
The free app, now available in the App Store, allows users to create chat rooms for shared interests, from makeup mastery to city gardens, according to the app’s website. The app is entirely separate from Facebook and doesn’t require you to provide any revealing details like your name or your location.

The mobile payment service used to split restaurant bills and eliminate IOUs took millennials’ smartphones by storm in 2014 after its parent company, Braintree, was acquired by eBay in late 2013. eBay CEO John Donahoe said in April that Venmo had “explosive growth on college campuses,” so much that the word “Venmo” is now being used as a verb—”just Venmo me”—following in the footsteps of Google, whose name is now a Oxford Dictionary-certified word.

The hugely successful messenger app reported over 600 million monthly users in August, up by 100 million since April, securing its position as the world’s most popular chat app. WhatsApp was acquired by Facebook in October for about $22 billion, on par with the value of Alibaba’s record-breaking IPO and vastly overshadowing Facebook’s $1 billion acquisition of Instagram, a move put into perspective by the WhatsApp purchase.

Snapchat is a photo messaging application developed by Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy, and Reggie Brown, then Stanford University students. Using the application, users can take photos, record videos, add text and drawings, and send them to a controlled list of recipients. These sent photographs and videos are known as "Snaps". Users set a time limit for how long recipients can view their Snaps (as of April 2014, the range is from 1 to 10 seconds), after which they will be hidden from the recipient's device and deleted from Snapchat's servers.
