How to Find IMEI Number of Any Phone

No comments :
IMEI numberIMEI is usually a string of 15 or 16 digits, and carriers use it to identify the devices registered on their networks. Being unique and not allowable to modify, it can also be used to blacklist stolen phones from a given network.

The IMEI number is used by a GSM network to identify valid devices and therefore can be used for stopping a stolen phone from accessing that network. For example, if a mobile phone is stolen, the owner can call his or her network provider and instruct them to "blacklist" the phone using its IMEI number. This renders the phone useless on that network and sometimes other networks too, whether or not the phone's SIM is changed. [wikipedia]

Ways to Find IMEI Number of Any Phone

Method 1
Simplest method of finding your phone's IMEI number is dial *#06# on your phone. The IMEI number will be displayed on the screen. Note it down somewhere safe or you can also take a screenshot.

Method 2 (For android user)
On Android phone, go to Settings >> About >> Status >> IMEI

Method 3 (For iPhone user)
On an iPhone, tap Settings >> General >> About >> scroll down to IMEI

Method 4
On most other phones with a removable battery, the IMEI is printed on a sticker that is inside the phone, under the battery. Take out the battery to check.

Method 5
The retail box and the bill both have the IMEI number written on them, which is a good reason to keep them safe instead of throwing them out.

Note: An IMEI is associated with a SIM slot, so dual SIM phones will have two IMEI numbers.

That's it, that's how easy it is to find your phone's IMEI number.
