Facebook’s new feature : ‘legacy contact’ will take over your account after your death

No comments :
Facebook is now letting its 1.35 billion users decide what will happen to their accounts when they die. Facebook is a place to share and connect with friends and family. For many of us, it’s also a place to remember and honor those we have lost.

When a person passes away, their account can become a memorial of their life, friendships and experiences.

Before today, there was no such option for your any of your friends to access your account at any cost. And we think most of you probably know now that Facebook (via internet.org) now lets Indians access to 30+ websites for free of charge.

How to choose a legacy contact

>> Open your settings and then Choose Security and then Legacy Contact at the bottom of the page.
>> After choosing your legacy contact, you’ll have the option to send a message to that person.
>> You may give your legacy contact permission to download an archive of the posts, photos and profile info you’ve shared on Facebook.

A timeline released by Facebook on Feb. 12, 2015 shows  redesigned memorial Facebook profile page.

Note : This feature is currently rolling out to some users in US with a global roll-out expected soon.
